2 Feb 2010 - 16:03
4 Feb 2010 - 16:03
America/New York

Members of the OASIS Emergency Interoperability (EI) Member Section will come together to showcase interoperable applications and tools that support OASIS Emergency Management (EM) standards, including the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) and the Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL) suite of standards. Attendees to the TCIP event will have ample opportunities to view InterOp demonstrations throughout the event. Demonstrations will address the significant operational effectiveness and economic benefits, as well as coherent frameworks that enable a more accurate, rapid, safer, coordinated emergency response.

SPONSOR-LEVEL MEMBERS AND SCENARIO PARTNERS:

  • Desktop Alert

Desktop Alert (DTA) is the new standard for network-centric emergency mass notification systems used by the United States National Guard nationwide. Worldwide military, industrial and commercial organizations such as the United States Air Force Academy, The United States Military Academy at West Point, Multi-National Forces in IRAQ, The U.S. Air Force, The U.S. Army, Hospital Corporation of America, and many more now utilize the DTA mass notification platform daily for their organizations emergency communication requirements.

  • Federal Emergency Management Agency/U.S. Department of Homeland Security

The DM Program provides two upgraded systems supporting responders:

    1. DM-OPEN - message broker offering non-proprietary interfaces for exchanging Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) Messages, Non-Weather Emergency Messages (NWEM), and Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL-DE) Messages. EDXL-DE messages transport NIEM IEPD defined messages as well as EDXL HAVE and Resource messages.
    2. DM-Framework - user interface to access messages routed through DM-OPEN and tools to facilitate real time collaboration and communication in response to incidents and disasters.

Together they support responders by providing transport and visual access for NIEM and OASIS messages within the DM architecture and cross-network/system shareability.

  • National Weather Service

The National Weather Service (NWS) provides weather, hydrologic, and climate forecasts and warnings for the United States, its territories, adjacent waters and ocean areas, for the protection of life and property and the enhancement of the national economy. NWS data and products form a national information database and infrastructure which can be used by other governmental agencies, the private sector, the public, and the global community.

  • Warning Systems

Warning Systems, Inc. (WSI) provides public alert and notification products that leverage the power of Internet standards to enable faster, smarter, and more secure emergency management. Since 1991, government agencies, military installations, broadcasters, chemical manufacturers, emergency managers and communities have relied on WSI to meet their critical communications challenges. WSI's OnAlert® and AdaptAlertTM radio frequency activation systems are compliant with the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) standard and have been tested by FEMA for use with the national Emergency Alert System. WSI's Tone Alert Receivers were engineered to meet the rugged requirements of the US Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP).

CONTRIBUTOR-LEVEL MEMBERS:

  • CellCast Technologies

CellCast Technologies, LLC is the provider of the CellCast Aggregator/GatewayTM and the emergency message originator, EAGLE Alerts. Its CellCast Aggregator/GatewayTM provides the functionality and interoperability required for CMAS and continues to be used in the longest running cell broadcasting demonstration in the US. CellCast technology has been successfully tested overseas and will soon be deployed in several countries. EAGLE and the Aggregator/GatewayTM have been successfully evaluated by the NIMS STEP Program; participant in FEMA DM-OPEN and in the DHS S&T DAWS technology demos. Both applications are compliant with the OASIS standards for CAP v1.1, CAP v1.2, EDXL-DE and NOAA's HazCollect.
